The Television code

This is just damn funny. Dick Cavett narates this ad. He explains the responciblities that TV networks placed on themselves. this must be the idea the FCC is still trying to enforce.

Dentyne - fresh, clean and frostbite?

This is the best gum ad that leaves your mouth feeling cool I have ever seen. Way to go Dentyne!

Budweiser - Whats up

Sometimes ads that eventually annoy the hell out of you inspire others to copy them. Budweiser creates ads that stick to you and cause a simple greating to be changed for ever by your friends. Here is the Bud ad and a copy cat.

the Glass Froster - WTF

MATTEL TOYS SHOOTEN-SHELL RIFLES

I like guns, I own guns, I hunt, and I am a member of a gun club. I think this ad inspired Ralphie to want the Red Rider BB Gun.

Barbie through the ages

Barbie is a well known doll. Since Barbie has been around people have complained that the doll has hurt girls self image. listen to this ad Mattel even tells girls you can pretent to be like Barbie.

Here is the first Barbie TV AD from 1959

Barbie in the 70's

Barbie NOW

Red Sox - Yankees

Since I am from Boston, I admit I am part of the Red Sox - Yankees rivalry. Go Sox

PS Alan if watching this I put this here for you!

Fritos

Listen to this voice, it is Speedy Gonzales from Bugs Bunny. Mel Blanc must have needed the money from Frito Lay. Anyway this was done long before we were so paranoid about the Mexican invasion.

OJ Hertz the celebrity endorsement

This is an old Hertz rental car ad. My favorite part is the old lady in this ad yelling "go OJ go". Who knew he would hear the same ting while hinding in the white Bronco.

Mario - the video game through the ages

Crazy Eddy -

Before cable we sis not have the Home Shopping Channels. Where there was a need there was Cazy Eddy to fill the void.

GI Joe - Then and now

I am not old enough to have gotten the good GI Joes. I got the 3 inch crappy plastic ones.

GI Joe Then

GI Joe Now (just kidding)

Mystery Date

My daughters would throw this game in the trash.

the Ford Pinto

I am not even going to give Ford the redirect on this one. The Ford Pinto was known for exploding upon impact in rear end collisions. The redirect will show you what I mean.

and now.... for the Earth shattering KaBOOM

Classic Breakfast cereal ads

Capt Crunch stay crippy in milk since the 50s

Anti Drug use PSA

Ah nothing like the classics. This ad was inspired by the same logic that brought Nancy Regan's "Just say no!" initiative.

Hai Karate

Before there was TAG body spray there was ....

Ty-D-Bol Man

4 years studing at Julliard and this guy never ended up on Inside the Actors Studio

Evil Knievel - Crash test dummy

Before KISS sold their images on everything there was Evil Knievel.

Tab - what the hell was going on in the 70s

If you remember TAB you were born before 1978. I know sex sells, I know advertising was sexists back them but this was so blatant in the age of bra burning how did they get away with this ad?

ESPN part 1

Here are some of the ESPN self promotion ads:

Felcher & sons - Reebok style

This ad is great. It was so popular Reebok made an extened version available on there web site. It has a special bonus for you fans of the movie Office Space. Listen for the reference to TPS reports!!

Burger King - small hands

WTF?

Condom Ads

This is an other ad that will not air in the US. If kids saw this ad I believe unwanted pregancy would drop.

the Killer Political ad

these ads helped to change who Americans voted for

This video did not even need to be used in anyones ad. The media ran this free ad for everyone running against him:

Flintstones - not a vitamin ad

You have seen the Flintsones selling vitamins and cereal but have you seen this?

Ford Motor Group - who is in this focus group?

Ford never ran the ad in the US. I am not sure who the are targeting this car to ..... Dog Lovers??

Dominos Pizza - 2 minute man

the Dominos pizza ad has pissed of a lot of guys.

Coke teaches the world to sing

Grap your pot pipe and a coke and sit back an enjoy this classic.

Mentos - The Freshmaker (WTF)

Mentos began running ads in the US several years ago. The ads showed the main character stuck in a situation. He or she had a sad reflective moment, popped a Mentos candy into his or her mouth, and BAMMM, an idea popped into his or her head and problem solved. WTF. Since then the ads have gotten worse as they mix bad sexual jokes into the ads. I am going back to sticking them in Diet Cokes. hahahaha

Classic ad

the WTF ad of today

Career Builder.com Monkeys

I watched this ad and loved it. The ad takes place in an office but the theme applies to every job I have ever had. This video has 3 of the ads in a row. Why to go Career Builder.com.

the Apple ad that started it all

During the 1983 Super Bowl Apple ran this ad. The ad made the Super Bowl the TV event to watch for Ads. The George Orwell book 1984 was the theme behind the Ad. For those of you to young to remember, or never had to read the book, many people at the beginning of the 80's really started to see the possibility of the book becoming a reality.

Arnold Schwarzenegger in Japan

I love when TV ads are beneath US Celeberties. They might do a voice over but rarely to you see their face shleping a company here in the US ..... Japan however. Here are 2 of Arnold Schwarzenegger's ads. I think he speaks Japanees better than English.

as promised here he is again

VW - Bullocks ad

I first heard the word Bullocks from the Sex Pistols. I always thought this would be a word not allowed on TV. VW uses this word like an American teenagers say "like". Gotta love the British TV sensors, they would have let Janet Jackson get fully naked on TV.

Mac vs PC - Time machine

Mac has been kicking the stuffing out of PC in their ads for a while. The PC guy has trimmed down a little since this campaign began but they are still funny. They haven't made me buy a Mac yet but several members of my family are on Macs.

IKEA ads are so close to the edge of not being allowed on TV. Here are 3 ads in a row that show you what I mean.

the Subway Football Ref

Finally an insight into the mind of a referee Thanks Subway.

Bud Light at the Opera

This is one of the best Bud Light ads ever. I still laugh everytime I see it.
